Avalon at Sonoma is a 93-unit assisted living community in Sonoma, California that recently opened in August 2005. It is operated by Vintage Senior Living, also a partner in the project. The community is located at 91 Napa Road in Sonoma, at the southeast corner of Broadway (Highway 12) and Napa Road. Frank Pipgras acquired the property with agricultural zoning, annexed it to the City of Sonoma, and completed the entitlement process for assisted living. Since then, he and his partners have worked diligently with a highly skilled project team to design, finance and develop a first class senior housing project. The architect is Forrar Williams Architects of Sacramento, California, and the contractor is Bud Bailey Construction, a Swinerton company based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Project provides care and services to its elderly residents, including but not limited to, assistance with daily activities (bathing, grooming, eating, escort to and from dining), exercise and related therapy programs, transportation to and from appointments, shopping and recreational activities, medication monitoring, incontinence care, and social activities. Included in the 93 units are 22 units in a secure wing dedicated to addressing the special needs of residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s related diseases.
